Content Warning: Mental Illness, Eating Disorders.
If you're not new to my blog or social media, then you're probably aware of my lengthy, ongoing battle with mental health. While some days are more positive than others, I often share glimpses of what it's like to be a mentally ill teen in today's day and age on my social media and in my writing. One thing I struggle a lot with is my relationship with food. Somehow, it was Twitter's awful algorithm that saved the day.

Did I stay up incredibly late to live tweet my thoughts on Taylor Swift's new album and be amongst the first to blog their thoughts? Maybe. What about it? Mind your business, I'm 17 and can make my own sketchy decisions. Okay, all jokes aside, Taylor has outdone herself with this album. It was amazing. I'm streaming it again as I look over my tweets and write this post.
Hello hello hello! I'm Marissa Seuss, and like most people of culture, I am a diehard Taylor Swift stan. That woman raised me with her music and stage/pop culture presence. Since her Evermore, the sister album to Folklore, is dropping at midnight, I'll be staying up all night stream it as soon as it drops! I'll live-tweet my reaction on my Twitter (@hiraethvelli) and post some story updates on my Instagram (@hiraeth.vellichor)! After I've listened to the entire album, I'll make sure to write up my thoughts about it before I crash and grab a few hours of sleep! Talk to y'all in a few hours! -m.s.r. Hey y'all! If you're new to my blog, welcome. It's been a while. I know, and I'm sorry! Here I am to say I'll be back and I plan to update at least once a week, and the regular update time will be Tuesdays at 10 AM in Eastern Standard Time. Now that we've gotten that out of the way, Happy Holidays! I know it's been rough, but we made it. Here's how I'm getting into the spirit of the season.
Hey y'all! Long time no write. I just started my senior year of high school, so I'm super busy. I'm settling into classes and getting into the swing of doing homework again. I really love my classes so far, but they're going to keep me busy! Especially AP Lit-we're going to read about 13 novels and plays, starting with Shakespeare's Hamlet.
Summary: Simon Snow did everything he was supposed to do. He beat the villain. He won the war. He even fell in love. Now comes the good part, right? Now comes the happily ever after…
So why can’t Simon Snow get off the couch? With Wayward Son, Rainbow Rowell has written a book for everyone who ever wondered what happened to the Chosen One after he saved the day. And a book for everyone who was ever more curious about the second kiss than the first. It’s another helping of sour cherry scones with an absolutely decadent amount of butter. Summary: Simon Snow is the worst Chosen One who's ever been chosen.
That's what his roommate, Baz, says. And Baz might be evil and a vampire and a complete git, but he's probably right. Carry On - The Rise and Fall of Simon Snow is a ghost story, a love story and a mystery. It has just as much kissing and talking as you'd expect from a Rainbow Rowell story - but far, far more monsters. Lyric art of Ariana Grande's Be Alright edited by me. Available on @hiraeth.vellichor on Instagram! Wow, what a month June 2020 has been! Despite my best efforts, I feel like I'm falling apart here (just a little bit). I've learned so much about the history of POC, I've participated in activism events, and I've been called more slurs in the past week than anyone should ever be called. It's been a wild ride. So obviously, I've had my hands full with social justice and activism, but you may wonder: what else has Marissa Seuss been doing in lieu of posting on her blog (shame on me!)?
Summary: Emma Lane’s forced to face her fears when her mother unceremoniously dumps her on the doorstep of Camp Mapplewood, abandoning her for the summer while she heads off on a cruise with her latest husband. It’s the last place Emma wants to be with scary creatures, creepy crawlies, and much that can go bump in the night. When Emma breaks into the tool shed on her first day there, the fall out from her escapades leads her right into the path of her counsellor, Vivian Black. . . . I know what everyone is probably thinking right now: RuPaul's Drag Race is about to start its 13th season, why are you talking about the first season now? Well, you see, when RPDR's first aired in 2009, I was only six years old and I was somewhat far from becoming the openly queer individual I am today. So, here's my overall thoughts on RPDR's Season 1 eleven years later.
