Lyric art of Ariana Grande's Be Alright edited by me. Available on @hiraeth.vellichor on Instagram! Wow, what a month June 2020 has been! Despite my best efforts, I feel like I'm falling apart here (just a little bit). I've learned so much about the history of POC, I've participated in activism events, and I've been called more slurs in the past week than anyone should ever be called. It's been a wild ride. So obviously, I've had my hands full with social justice and activism, but you may wonder: what else has Marissa Seuss been doing in lieu of posting on her blog (shame on me!)? At the beginning of this month, I went away on vacation and got some amazing pictures in Hocking Hills. Two weeks later, my mom got ankle surgery so I've been helping her out around our home. While I was in Hocking Hills on vacation, I applied for an internship for Consonancie's-the online magazine I write for-TikTok management. When I got back, I discovered I'd received it, so I've been brainstorming for that! Additionally, I'm still writing for Consonancie, and you can find my articles here.
As if freelance writing and an internship wasn't enough, I am of course searching for colleges. That's right folks, I'm a high school senior and it's almost time for me to pack on up and get out of town. It's so surreal that I'm finally here. I made it. I lived, even when I didn't want to and everyone else fought for my life when I couldn't. Mental health is another huge part of why I've been so MIA on my blog. I needed a hot second to back up and breathe. In order to get myself to chill out, I decided to do something silly: I logged into my old Wattpad account where I used to write fanfiction and I'm reworking some old stories for fun. It's oddly soothing to go back to "my roots". Still, that's not all I'm doing. I'm auditioning for NBC's The Voice in a week or so and I still haven't decided what song I'm going to sing. I narrowed it down between Bellyache by Billie Eilish or Don't Start Now by Dua Lipa. The former would be an acoustic guitar cover and the latter would be a piano cover. I'm not sure if I can pull off either.
