Summary: Simon Snow did everything he was supposed to do. He beat the villain. He won the war. He even fell in love. Now comes the good part, right? Now comes the happily ever after… So why can’t Simon Snow get off the couch? With Wayward Son, Rainbow Rowell has written a book for everyone who ever wondered what happened to the Chosen One after he saved the day. And a book for everyone who was ever more curious about the second kiss than the first. It’s another helping of sour cherry scones with an absolutely decadent amount of butter. My Review: Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Just,, leave me to cry for a while, okay? I need an itsy bitsy break to cry out all my feels, and then I’ll get up and write this review so I can write the next one and the next and go on to become a big, strong book blogger when I grow up. For today though, just let me cry over these young men who are lost and trying to find themselves and figure everything out. I relate far too much. I love love love all the supernatural and whimsically magical elements of the Simon Snow universe, but at the end of the day, my favorite thing is that the characters are realistic. These characters feel. Simon, Baz, and Penny have hopes and dreams. They make plans for their futures. They screw up. They get hurt, and they bleed. They don’t sparkle and shine all of the time. If Carry On is my comfort book, Wayward Son is my angst book. This was a 5/5 star read for me! My Favorite Lines:
